Nodame Cantabile Movie Live Action

The "Nodame Cantabile" movie is going to come out in December 2009 and there has been a flood of new details concerning the locations, cast and other stuff.

One of the biggest new locations in the movie is going to be the "capital of music", Vienna. Actor Tamaki Hiroshi (29) about the location, "I can feel the weight of all the history this city holds and I’m becomming really tense." Actress Ueno Juri (23) too, "There’s no better place to concentrate than here." Celebrated musicians like Mozart, Beethoven or Brahms have been active in Vienna and you can find statues of them in the local park.

Tokyo Dogs Featuring Oguri Shun and Mizushima Hiro

Kyaaa~~ Oguri Shun and Mizushima Hiro are pairing together! I previously saw them together in Hanazakari no Kimitachi e. That solemn Izumi Sano with pervert Nanba Minami now rejoin as a police partner with 180 degree difference in character. They are more mature in this dorama. Just check it out below!

Japanese dramas (テレビドラマ :) terebi dorama, television drama), also called dorama (ドラマ?), are a staple of Japanese television and are broadcast daily. All major TV networks in Japan produce a variety of drama series including murder, romance, comedy, detective stories, horror, and many others. For special occasions, there may also be a one- or two-episode drama with a specific theme, such as a drama produced in 2007 for the 60-year anniversary of the end of World War II.

Ouran High School Host Club Quiz

I found it fun to enroll this kind of quiz or game, I guess once in a while. I became Ouran High School Host Club's fan just after read the first tankoubon and lately became addicted to it. Nanae Chrono's Peacemaker Kurogane Gets Live Action

The Oricon marketing survey firm reports that a drama series adaptation of Nanae Chrono's Peace Maker Kurogane supernatural samurai manga has been green-lit for a January 2010 premiere on the TBS/MBS television network in Japan. The story centers around a short 15-year-old boy named Tetsunosuke Ichimura who attempts to join the legendary samurai of Shinsengumi as part of his plan to avenge his murdered parents. However, he learns that he must become a demon to join this group.

Fansubbing Jobs

What is fansub? According to wikipedia, fansub (short for fan-subtitled) is a version of a foreign film or foreign television program which has been translated by fans and subtitled into a language other than that of the original. Because distribution of fan-subtitled content is a violation of copyright laws in most countries, the ethical implications of producing, distributing, or watching fansubs are topics of much controversy. Have you ever wondered who are behind the subbed shows you are watching? And what kind of jobs they are doing to make a quality show and every fans happy and contented? Now is your chance to learn more about them. Every job has it's own work and criteria. So if you want to join any fansub groups, you better know them (job descriptions are made by zeldAIS): Timer - the art of timing the subs when the characters are saying or when (a) word(s) are displayed on screen. It is one of the most important backbone of fansubbing together with translations (you can't do other fields of fansubbing without this and translations at all). There are basically 2 kinds of Timers - pre-translation timer and post-translation timer. Pre-translation timers times the subs and leave blanks in them for the translator to fill in after (s)he finishes a video. The timer is not required to know the language being subbed. Post-translation timers times the subs after the translator have written the translated script. The timer, however, needs to know basic nihongo to be able to time the script correctly. With that said, we will be using Pre-Translation timing more. Translator - one of the most important backbone of fansubbing together with timing. He/She translates all necessary things to be subbed in the video. It is also important that the translator must be fluent enough in both languages he/she is translating. Note: Translators are GODS. (merciful Gods if i might add) Translation Checker - checks if the translations done by the translator is correct. Every good product will be made better if it has 2nd opinion Spot Translator - a translator wherein there are spots where the main translator can't figure out how to translate it (This spot was prolly coined in the Drama fansubbing Community) Editor - a position where it doesn't require fluency in the original language nor watching the raw video being subbed. Edits the subs and checks thoroughly punctuations, flow of words and especially grammar. Typesetter - the artistic position of fansubbing. Choosing the exact fonts appropriate for the show and making them pretty to be released. The typesetter, however, must consider the main goal of the subs - the viewers understand the subs. So if the font used are too overkill and hard to read, it's better off you just watch softsubs Tongue The typesetter must remember that he is like making a best supporting character in typesetting the subs. A typesetter must be creative - as nobody can teach anyone to be creative. Also, in most of the shows we will be doing, knowing \t overrides - or effects in the subs themselves - is a big big plus. Karaoke - combination of both timing and typesetting skills. A Karaoke can be either good or ugly. An overkill karaoke that has complicated effects but can't be read is a bad thing. It is also bad if the syllable timings are off. One must be very creative in using \t to make wow, but legible, effects. Encoder - Hardsubs the softsubs done by the previous staff. Must know technical aspects of good encoding - considering both the balance of audio and video with file size limitation. Quality Control - most of the subs here are almost the final product but everything from timing, simple translation, typesetting among others will be thoroughly checked by the QC'r. He/She must make sure that there are no more errors in the subs that will be released and will serve as the last line of defense. Splash Maker - Makes the cool images that are inserted in the beginning of the releases. If you're good at Photoshop/GIMP/etc. and you like to make graphics, this is for you. Sometimes you'll be provided with images you can use so you won't have to hunt for them. The most important thing: Raw Provider - For every fansubbed anime episode that has been released by a group, the episode must come from some electronic source, whether it is from a television broadcast that has been captured onto a hard drive or a DVD source that has either been purchased or ripped into an ISO file format. Haruhi Fujioka is a scholarship student at exclusive Ouran High School, where it turns out that the bespectacled, short-haired Haruhi is the only student from a lower-middle class family in attendance. Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge Live Action

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge is also known as Perfect Girl Evolution. This manga originally created by Tomoko Hayakawa, who is very fond of cat and Kiyoharu. This manga then was also made into anime and live-action/ dorama. Bishonen spoiler! Takano Kyohei (Kamenashi Kazuya) is a handsome but bad-tempered university student who is always ready for a fight; Toyama Yukinojo (Tegoshi Yuya) possesses a cuteness that can be mistaken for a girl; the cool-headed Oda Takenaga (Uchi Hiroki) excels in academics and sports; and the princely Mori Ranmaru (Miyao Shuntaro) loves females, accept a proposal from the female owner of the house where they are lodging at for “free lodging if they are able to transform her niece into a proper lady”. Hotaru no Hikari 2

Umemiya Hotaru is back with her buchou (boss). The second live-action television series based on Satoru Hiura's Hotaru no Hikari women's romance manga will premiere in July. Haruka Ayase (Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror's Haruka, Crying Out Love in the Center of the World's Aya) will reprise her role as Hotaru, a 27-year-old office lady who would rather sit around lazily at home than pursue romance. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Hotaru ends up living in the same house as her clean-freak boss, and she soon begins to develop a relationship with one of her younger coworkers. Naohito Fujiki (20th Century Boys' Chōno, GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka's Ryuji Saejima) will also return to the series as Seiichi Takano, Hotaru's boss. The theme of the second series will be the happiness of the transformed heroine as Hotaru considers marriage. The manga ran in Kodansha's Kiss magazine from 2004 to 2009, and 15 book volumes of the manga have been published. The Southern California station United Television Broadcasting (UTB) aired the first 2007 television series last year. The reception for this dorama didn't as high as the first installment. Departures (Okuribito): Academy Award Winner

Departures (Okuribito, 送り人) is a Japanese film directed by Yojiro Takita. It won in the 81st Oscar Awards last 2009 for Best Foreign Language film. Aside from that, this film won other awards from various film festivals and the like. The film is about a former orchestra cellist, because of strange turn of events, ends up being an assistant for a certain ceremony. Daigo Kobayashi (Masahiro Motoki) is a cellist who worked in an orchestra in Tokyo. Because he lost his job after the orchestra dissolved, he decided to sell his expensive cello and along with his wife, Mika (Ryoko Hirosue) to move back into his hometown in Sakata which she agrees sweetly. Jobless, he looks for a job in a newspaper coming from the ‘NK Agency’ that has high pay. Thinking that it is about a travel agency due to the nature of the ad saying about “departures,” he comes into the agency and seeks for the job. After a really quick interview, he receives his advance and learns the true nature of the job. It turned out that the sign in the ad was wrong and his boss reveals that NK is the abbreviation for nōkan, in English, “encoffinment,” a ceremony about purifying and dressing up the dead before he/she will be slowly placed in his/her coffin. Learning the nature, and since he is already here, he gives the job a shot. After learning the art from his boss, and doing various jobs (His first job by the way, is regarding an two-week old corpse of an old lady), his wife learns about it (He kept secret his job on his wife) and leaves him due to the nature of his job, causing him to think thoroughly about it. After making a resolution about his job to continue it and after a few months, his wife returned to tell him the news that she is pregnant. Later on, she accepts his job after seeing the beauty of the process. After a few other jobs, they received a telegram, telling that his estranged father, who left him when he was a child died. Will he claim his father’s corpse or will he leave it in the harbor with no one to take care of it? Will he close the issues between him and his dead father? It is for you to find out. Speaking of genuine reactions, all of the clients that Daigo met have genuine reactions as they saw their dead ones being beautiful after the process. The most touching was the scene regarding to a dead homosexual and his father. They never gave much background about the family except they hinted us that the father doesn’t accept his son as he is, until the said scene happen. The score for the film was brilliant and it fits the entire film perfectly considering that Daigo played the cello most of the time. The beauty about this film is the process of carefully purifying the dead. This is the highlight of the said film. It was slow, yet beautiful that you see every fine detail of the process. It was one of the unforgettable parts of the film. The film is also, about what is next after we die? Although it is discussed subtly, it is one of the topics that are found in the film. When Daigo first saw a corpse in his first job, he went to the bathhouse and scrubbed everything in his body and later, went to his wife and feel her existence, that she is breathing and that she is warm. You might find that reaction kind of overrating but I find it dramatic. Another time this was discussed is when the good friend of the owner of the bathhouse speaks about what is next after we die before he cremates his good friend. Overall, the Departures movie is one great film. Even the film has this serious tone, it still has scenes that is funny (A sample, the scene where Daigo purifies a “female” client). The thing about Departures is that it is about acceptance, acceptance in one’s job and acceptance in one’s family. It is also about having a proper send off to your love one before he/she will meet his/her creator and the people who are behind in giving you love one a proper send off. Paradise Kiss Live Action

The October issue of Shodensha's women's fashion magazine Zipper is announcing on Monday that a live-action film adaptation of Ai Yazawa's Paradise Kiss manga has been green-lit. Keiko Kitagawa (live-action Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon's Sailor Mars, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift's Reiko) is starring in the film, and she also adorns the cover of Zipper's October issue. Osamu Mukai (Honey and Clover, Nodame Cantabile, Mei-chan no Shitsuji, Beck) will co-star, and the rest of the cast includes Natsuki Katō, Aya Ōmasa, Kento Kaku, Shunji Igarashi, and Yūsuke Yamamoto. Paradise Kiss follows the story of Hayasaka Yukari, a high school student who is tired of the meaningless and repetitive life that has been forced upon her by her uptight mother; and, Joji Koizumi, an eccentric, handsome, and extremely charismatic student of Yazagaku who has extraordinary talent with a gift for fashion design. The manga ran in Zipper from 1999 to 2003, and Shodensha sold 6 million copies of the five compiled book volumes. Tokyopop began publishing the original manga in North America in 2001, and MADHOUSE's anime version aired in Japan in 2005. Geneon Entertainment (USA) licensed the anime for North America in 2006, although Funimation has since released the anime in DVD box sets. The Hollywood Reporter magazine posted an article in 2009 about Fox International's negotiations for a Japanese-language, live-action film adaptation. According to the magazine, Fox International would be working with Japan's IMJ production company to produce the film with a budget of US$3 million to US$4 million, but these companies have not been announced for the current project. Yazawa also created the NANA manga about polar-opposite roommates in Tokyo, and that manga has sold 34 million copies so far. IMJ and the Japanese TBS television network adapted NANA into two hit live-action films, and Aniplex and Madhouse adapted it into a television anime series. Meitantei Conan Live Action 3

At May, it was announced that there will be a live action Detective Conan series that will start airing this July. Instead of having it's own original story like the previous live action specials, the series will include cases seen in the manga and anime. Entitled “Meitantei Conan Kudo Shinichi e no Chousenjou“, the story will take place three months before Kudo Shinichi was transformed into Edogawa Conan, and it will be a drama where murder cases are solved every episode. Canon-wise, it took place after the 3rd special and before the first special starring Shun Oguri. Aside from Junpei Mizobata and Shiori Kutsuna, as Shinichi Kudo and Ran Mori, other cast members from the 3rd special drama which was aired this April will all reprise their roles; Jinnai Takanori as “Mouri Kogoro (Ran’s father)”, Otsuka Nene as “Kisaki Eri (Ran’s mother)”, AKB48’s Akimoto Sayaka as “Suzuki Sonoko (Ran’s best friend)”. In addition, Shinichi Kudo's rival, “Hattori Heiji”, Osaka District's famous high school detective, will make an appearance in the drama series for the first time, although his actor is left unannounced. Live Action Arakawa Under the Bridge

Cinema Today had released the first 71-second teaser for the upcoming live action adaptation of the popular anime Arakawa Under the Bridge. The JDrama series stars Kento Hayashi and Mirei Kiritani. Kento Hayashi and Mirei Kiritani plays the roles of Riku/Kou Ichinomiya and Nino respectively. It also stars Yu Shirota, Natsumi Abe and Nana Katase. The television drama adaption will be released in July 2011 followed by a movie this 2012. Arakawa Under the Bridge tells the story of Kou Ichinomiya who has always lived according to the creed of his wealthy, successful family: never be in debt to anyone. But one day, under the Arakawa Bridge, his life is saved by a homeless girl named Nino. In order to pay her back, Kou promises to be her boyfriend; and thus begins his new life under the bridge. Another cast announced are Shirota Yu as Sister, a man who dresses like a nun but always carries a gun; Katase Nana as Maria, a beautiful but sadistic woman; and Natsumi Abe as P-ko, a dangerously clumsy girl. The July issue of Hakusensha's LaLa magazine is announcing next Tuesday that a live-action television series adaptation of Bisco Hatori's Ouran High School Host Club romantic comedy manga has been green-lit for this July. The series on the TBS network will feature Yūsuke Yamamoto (Kamen Rider Kabuto, Hana Zakari no Kimi-tachi e) as the Host Club president Tamaki Suō and Haruna Kawaguchi (Yankee-kun to Megane-chan, Moshidora) as the heroine Haruhi Fujioka. BLOODY MONDAY 2

FALCON is back in his second season! It has been 2 years now since the genius hacker, Fujimaru Takagi, stopped the terrorist attack. However, Japan is now under the threat of a nuclear bomb attack. The Prime Minister, Akihiko Kyuujo, convenes the “THIRD-i” members after receiving contact from Maya Orihara, the person responsible for the terrorist attack 2 years ago, that a nuclear bomb will be dropped on the city of Tokyo. Meanwhile, Fujimaru is attacked by a person calling herself “Maya Orihara”. At around this time, “THIRD-i” finds out that J, the mastermind behind the terrorist attack 2 years ago, is boarded on a plane that is carrying the nuclear bombs. This is when the newly appointed chief of “THIRD-i” decides to call the genius hacker Fujimaru, otherwise known as “Falcon”, to duty.

About Bloody Monday 2

The live-action television drama adaptation of Ryō Ryūmon and Kōji Megumi's Bloody Monday suspense manga will launch a sequel series on January 23. 19-year-old Haruma Miura (Gokusen 3, Akihabara @ DEEP) will reprise his role of Fujimaru Takagi, a high school student and genius white-hat hacker who tries to clear his father's name by tracking down the "Bloody Monday" conspiracy. Whereas thefirst series dealt with a deadly Russian weapons-grade virus, the new season is set two years later when an aircraft bearing a new kind of nuclear weapon threatens Tokyo. The returning cast includes Takeru Satoh (Kamen Rider Den-O, ROOKIES) as Takagi's classmate Kujo Otoya, Michiko Kichise (Nodame Cantabile) as the mysterious woman Maya, and Hiroki Narimiya (Gokusen, Akihabara @ DEEP, NANA) as the terrorist planner "J." The new season will feature the new castmembers Tomoka Kurokawa (Detective Conan, Last Quarter, Naruto the Movie: Legend of the Stone of Gelel)and Masahiro Takashima (Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life, The Snow Queen) in unspecified roles. The "Season 1" arc of the manga ran in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine from 2007 to 2009, and the arc's 11th and final compiled book volume shipped in May. The 11 volumes have sold 4 million copies so far. The Bloody Monday Season 2: Pandora no Hako (Pandora's Box) arc of the manga launched in October. The first television drama series, which has been nicknamed the "Japanese 24" after the American suspense television series, ran from October to December of last year.

CONFIRMED! Takeru Sato Plays as Himura Kenshin

るろうに剣心 It is confirmed! Plans for adapting a live-action film adaption of Nobuhiko Watsuki's Rurouni Kenshin (Also known as Samurai X in South East Asia) is on the works, with Takeru Sato (Kamen Rider Den-O, Bloody Monday) playing the role of the X-scared samurai, Kenshin Himura.

About Rurouni Kenshin live action

There were also rumors of Kenshin being played by Miura Haruma (Gokusen 3, Bloody Monday), Oguri Shun (Gokusen, Detective Conan Live), Ikuta Toma (Hana Kimi), etc. but the staff settled on Sato Takeru as they saw him to be more fit for the role. There are plans back then to adapt this film but due to the technology, they can't pursue with the plan. There also offers coming from Hollywood to adapt this film but Watsuki declined those offers. As we all know, there are lots of disappointments from Hollywood adaptations of animes. 22-year-old actor Takeru Satoh (Kamen Rider Den-O, Rookies, Beck, Ryōmaden) will star in a live-action film adaptation of Nobuhiro Watsuki's Rurouni Kenshin samurai manga next year. Keishi Ōtomo will direct Satoh on this new film, just as he did in last year's NHK historical television series Ryōmaden. Warner Brothers Pictures Japan is producing with its president William Ireton, while Studio Swan (Paradise Kiss) is in charge of the actual film production. The Sankei Sports newspaper adds that the staff aims to release the film internationally and eventually make a series. This will be the first live-action adaptation of the manga. Producer Shinzō Matsuhashi commented, "Satoh has the looks and stature to be a proper Kenshin." Watsuki added that when this project was just starting, he and his wife were discussing who should play Kenshin, and decided that Satoh topped the list. Satoh himself said that he was a huge fan of the original manga when he was in elementary school and when the manga was still running. "It was the manga that everyone in my generation knew." He added that he and his friends would play around by pretending to sword-fight. Satoh began intensive training in sword-fighting earlier this month, and filming will begin in July. Nobuhiro Watsuki's original 1994-1999 manga ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and the resulting 28 compiled books volumes have 50 million copies in print. The manga inspired a television anime series that is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Viz Media published the manga in North America, and Media Blasters' AnimeWorks label released the television anime. ADV Films released two later original video anime projects and a film on DVD, and Aniplex is releasing these three titles on Blu-ray Disc this year. in April, Shueisha announced that a new Rurouni Kenshin anime project has been green-lit.

Hana Kimi Remake Cast Announced!

The main cast of the upcoming “Hanazakari no Kimitachi e ~ Ikemen Paradise” remake is finally announced! Along with AKB48's Atsuko Maeda, newcomers Aoi Nakamura and Shohei Miura will play the most important roles in the series. The “Hana Kimi” remake was announced by Fuji TV last month, with Maeda replacing Horikita Maki from the original 2007 series as Ashiya Mizuki. Nakamura and Miura are likewise taking over the roles that were played by Shun Oguri and Toma Ikuta, as Izumi Sano and Nakatsu Shuichi respectively.

About Hanakimi...

Nakamura’s thoughts about his role, “I’m aiming to not just portray Sano as an ikemen by appearance, but also show his hidden passion and strong willpower.” Miura then comments about replacing Ikuta for the role of Nakatsu, “I’m feeling happy and pressure at the same time. I’d like to become as foolish as possible in order to portray the role of Nakatsu to the best of my abilities.” Also included in the cast are three tokusatsu alumni, Kamen Rider W's Shoutaro, Renn Kiriyama, and Kamen Rider Kabuto's Yaguruma/Kick Hopper, Hidenori Tokuyama, and Kagami/Gatack, Yuki Sato. Roles are yet to be announced. Based on a poster image from the Sankei Sports newspaper, the rest of the cast seems to include: Shintaro Yamada, Shotaro Kotani, Kazuhiro Okazaki, Kazuma Kawahara, Goro Kurihara, Ozora Takami, Kodai Asaka, Shige Kasai, Ryosuke Yamamoto, Yukito Nishii, Tomo Yanagishita, Katsuhiro Suzuki, Ryu Ando, Kusuto Miyajima, Shota Matsushima, Shotaro Mamiya, Tomoki Okayama, Sonde Kanai, Taiko Katoono, Shinnosuke Mitsushima, Arata Horii, and Gouki Maeda. Most of these were visually identified and are still pending confirmation. Characters played by each additional cast members is yet to be announced. “Hana Kimi 2011” will air on Fuji TV every Sunday at 9pm and is scheduled to begin sometime in July.
