Indonesian Sisterhood Travelling Kimono

During 2012, there is an idea originated from the admin of Immortalgeisha forum. That event is so called Sisterhood Traveling Kimono. Later the event was changed into Travelling Kimono only. The detail of the event can be seen in here: https://www.facebook.com/TravellingKimono1. Apparently, they already had the second round with different kimono. I actually want to participate, but due to high postage and the lack of kimono and komono items, I finally forfeit from the event. But still, I love the idea and see the kimono travelling around many countries with different ensemble.

Around the last quarter of 2012, I had an intense online conversation with the admin of Kimono Fans Indonesia and the owner of Kiyora Japan online shop. Two noticable girls who are really getting into kimono passion. To date, those two agree with my idea of holding the same event in Indonesia exclusively. They are enthusiastic and proposed to the admin of Sisterhood Traveling Kimono (I will shortened it into STK for the time being). During our waiting for the response and reply, we started to make a page dedicated for the event.



Thank goodness, the admin of STK gave us positive feedback and allowed us to hold the same event. And then, on December 4, 2012 we launched the page. This is the page: https://www.facebook.com/IndonesianTravelingKimono and of course it's in Indonesian.

After that, we hold the vote for the choosen kimono. There are four kimono that were proposed. All of them are gorgeous komon. I personally liked the first one ^w^.

We closed the vote on 22 December 2012. The choosen on was Kimono 1.

Komon is the most versatile kimono in both casual and semi formal occasion so TPO (time, place and occasion) likewise, komon will be our first choice ^w^.

We adapted the rule directly from STK and did some minor change (we add juban to the package since we believe that the participants will likely have no juban).

We also opened the application for the participants. After a long conversation with my kimono fellow, we decided to to make the first round to be our pilot project and closed the participants into five person. To our convenience, I will be the zero participant and will be the very first person wearing the choosen kimono teehee~~
