I was dishearten a lot since I couldn't go to HF9 this year, but some advertisement about Mangafest 2013, the local matsuri event in Yogya cheered me up :D. I thought about going to the matsuri but ended up renting a booth there :P. My booth was renting yukata one. I asked help from one of my community friend. The matsuri was cramped with people ^w^. The matsuri was conducted on 9-10 November 2013 at Fakultas Ilmu Bahasa (FIB) UGM. For further review about the matsuri and my booth, please go to this link here ;).
I wore kimono for both day. But, due to lack of human resources, I didn't have decent picture of my own kitsuke T^T. I should really really start to take my picture just about I finished my kitsuke session. Sowwie for the blurry, overexposure, weird angle and disheveled pictures.
Day 1
I wore my home-made komon. The colour is thick purple - I always wanted to have a royal purple kimono, but this komon wasn't that colour I want :P. I paired it with my flower hiraki nagoya obi, pink-white obiage, pink-white obijime, white based polkadot kantan eri and really wide lace for my collar. I wanted to try that kind of ensemble - I guess the inspiration was from kimono hime style and Mamechiyo. I wore white tabi and geta (present from hubby). I know I suppose not wearing tabi with geta, but I just love socks! I can't get enough socks~ Oh...I only wear kantan eri since it was going to be a really hot day.
Day 2
I wore my checkered red komon and paired it with my self made informal fukuro obi. Gee I didn't know about much obi back then and decided to made obi. Actually, the taiko part has embriodered patch of bunny and bear; ohh! also black lace near both taiko border (what is the term for that? :O). I still wore the same kantan eri and tabi :)). For both day, I didn't wear any juban since I would strike with prostrate heat if I did so. Got the experience from the last matsuri at Solo part 1, part 2 :)). It was raining hard by the end of the day. But I didn't disheartened at all. This was a great experience!
They were cosplayers waiting for the result and brave enough to try two of my yukata. They are bishonen in real life. |
